David Dimitri
President
David Dimitri was born in Zurich in 1963.
Determined to become a circus artist, at the age of 14, he traveled alone to Budapest for 4 years to attend the State Circus School. He then moved to New York and graduated from the renowned Juilliard School with a dance degree. He has performed at the Metropolitan Opera House, MGM Las Vegas, Big Apple Circus, Busch Gardens, Monte Carlo Circus Festival, Berlin Opera House, Cirque du Soleil, and Circus Knie, among others. David Dimitri has worked as an artist in film, opera, and theater, with John Huston, Franco Zeffirelli, Philippe Petit (Man On Wire) and many others. In 1997, he was the Artistic Director of the largest Circus Museum in the USA. David Dimitri has also created projects for Disney, Swiss Post, Swisscom, Fondation Beyeler, Swiss Economic Forum, SBB, Terre des Hommes, Grasshopper, Gmuzynska Gallery, and Stavros Niarchos. He has also produced several successful benefit galas at the Zurich Playhouse and Opera House for the Fondazione Dimitri.
In 2007, David Dimitri created his own one-man circus. A success story that has led him to perform in 140 cities worldwide, with over 2000 shows. Between tours and tightrope walking, he continues to develop the future of the Dimitri world as the President of the Fondazione Dimitri.
